Using the template for a 12-week logbook
Enter your vehicle and odometer details at the top of the spreadsheet, then record each journey you make during your logbook period.
Make sure you record both business and private journeys so your business-use percentage can be calculated from your total vehicle travel.

Prefer to track your trips automatically?
A spreadsheet works well if you’re happy to enter every journey manually.
Travel Logs can automatically record your vehicle trips as you drive, allowing you to review and categorise business and personal travel without manually maintaining a spreadsheet.
You can also keep vehicle expenses and maintenance records together and generate reports when you need them.
This template is provided as a record-keeping aid only and does not constitute tax, accounting or financial advice. Check the current ATO requirements or speak with a registered tax professional if you’re unsure about your circumstances.
