How is vehicle business use calculated?

Your business-use percentage is calculated using:

Business kilometres ÷ Total kilometres × 100

For example, if you travelled 6,250 kilometres during your logbook period and 4,125 kilometres were for business:

4,125 ÷ 6,250 × 100 = 66% business use

Your business-use percentage can be used as part of the ATO logbook method to calculate eligible car expense deductions.
